Who are the chosen?
There are as many different answers to that question as there are ethnic groups of people, religious denominations, countries in the world, businesses and other organizations. Just about everybody feels chosen for one reason or another, whether it is to align oneself for nationalistic, personal, economic, emotional or spiritual allegiance. We all want to feel chosen; we all want to feel special.
There exists a deeper level of chosen-ness in the very core of a person… chosen to play a particular role in the grand scheme of the world uniquely suited to that single individual. The most difficult aspect of accepting and living that chosen-ness is knowing that it is only revealed as the person evolves. Such evolution and growth are challenging and uncomfortable.
But what of the alternative: to remain static, unmoving? A choice between actively living or just going through the motions.
For me it is the choice between being stuck and moving past my personal limitations. I am not happy if I am not moving… either physically or metaphorically… simply wired into my DNA.
We are who we choose to be. I choose to be my best self.
