So I’ve been thinking about the idea of the journey of the two halves of life…

The first journey is about building a family / a career / a set of values / expectations / desires / and all the accessories and accoutrements that go with those things.  Let’s face it… we build and gather a lot of stuff.  Richard Rohr calls it “creating the container” in his new book Falling Upward.

The second journey is filling the container… not with stuff… but with our innards.  Figuring out what goes into the soul of the container… the container is us.

Unwittingly, I’ve been catapulted into the second journey of my life… the second half as it were.  I’ve made some big decisions lately that will set me out on a new adventure.  I’m a little scared… but I’m also feeling exhilarated and challenged.  It was time to move forward in a big way.

Onward thou voyager!
