97… 99… 100 yesterday… 99 expected today.
Even though it’s Wyoming and humidity flirts with 20% sometimes, this has been the kind of heat where even a shower can’t cut the sweaty, sticky feel on your body.
Way too hot to be hauling boxes and having yard sales.
Still we do what must be done.
The Last Goodbyes
As we’ve made our way around town running errands, we continue to see people that need a last goodbye. I just smile every time a new person comes into view and say to myself… I’m really going to miss them. It has been good to have one final conversation with each.
There may come an event that will bring us back this way in the future but odds are good that all new roads are on the horizon.
The Strangeness of Life
It is strange to compare the vast changes that we face with the steady stability of what we leave behind. Unknown vs. comfort. Upheaval vs. routine.
It is exciting and daunting all at the same time.
We have been reflecting on the cost and challenges of following God’s call. There are no easy answers or choices when you allow God to take you where he wills. Our journey over the past few years has exacted great sacrifice / courage / strength. I honestly don’t know how we have made it… except for the grace and faith that God has sent.
And this huge heat wave… extreme by Wyoming standards… feels to be the refining furnace to burn out the last dross in us as we take our leave.
Just a couple more days and we will be heading west.
Onward thou voyager.
