How do you explain it?

I think life is so funny sometimes… in such an unexplainable way… where the only reasonable way to describe how something happened was:

It’s a God-thing.

And in some circles that’s all you have to say.  They get it.

Like how a particular group of people comes together when it was supposed to be a whole other group.  Someone cancels, another has a crisis… and so the second and third-string players step up to fill in… and then everything clicks.

It’s a God-thing.

Like when a hiccup in the whole air transportation system detours you through airports you weren’t planning to visit and you get where you wanted to go about 7 hours later than you wanted to be there… but it’s okay! because you ended up with great new ideas for that pesky project and you met a really interesting new friend to boot.

It’s a God-thing.

Like when you get laid-off from a job [or four] but a moment of clarity helps you see that each one is taking you closer to being the person you want to be that’s going to change the world.

It’s a God-thing.

Like when you wake up early on a weekend morning because you have to go set teen hearts on fire for Jesus at a Confirmation retreat and you realize you forgot to set your clock back and now you have an extra very-early-morning-hour to hang out in the dark.

It’s a God thing.

definitely a God-Thing

Thank God for God-Things!

We’d be lost without them.

Our stories would be duller and the punch lines not nearly as funny.

Our lives would be way more boring because we would be the only ones writing the plots.

Our days would be hugely less chaotic… more routine and predictable without the obstacles and challenges that thwart our plans and throw us off-kilter into tizzies.

Whoa Nellie!  Back up a step…

Less chaotic… more routine and predictable, you say?

God-Thing or no God-Thing?  Is that the question?

Hmmm… let me think about that for a sec…

Oh look… squirrel!
